6. Check existing Schellville stock of steam cylinder oil and Journaltex and make a list of what needs to be replenished from supplies at Antioch. No action taken during the August 20, 2022 workday.
7. Check the Alemite hard grease gun and make repairs if necessary. In progress, the Alemite gun was placed in Jim Prettyleaf’s truck so additional work needed for conversion to flexible hydraulic line can be completed.
8. Start charging the batteries in the #3194 GP9 locomotive on the morning of August 6, 2022. Done, batteries charged by Steve Coon, loco started and static load test is okay.

16. Continue planning the steps needed to complete the #141 Oakland Business Car’s new Northwest Rail Electric air conditioning system. No action taken during the August 20, 2022 workday.
17. Continue the electrical wiring installations that are needed to get the #141 Oakland Business Car running again. No action taken during the August 20, 2022 workday.
18. Continue sorting out and reorganizing the contents of the #6752 Diesel Shop Car and the #5131 Steam Shop Car prior to the start of operations. No action taken during the August 20, 2022 workday.
19. The GGRM EIC is required to send a text to NWPCo General Manager Ryan Martin when flag and derail protection has been taken down at the Victory Station Yard and the north leg of the Schellville wye. Done Jim Prettyleaf.
At the Sonoma Rail worksite in Schellville:
1. Hook up the suction and pressure plumbing for the rebuilt air-conditioning compressor for the #3722 gallery car. Done by Jim Prettyleaf and Nico Dacong.
2. ADA access to the #3722 GGRM gallery cars has been placed on temporary hold, so borrow the center vestibule handrails from #3720 and install them in #3722. Done by David Waterman, Ted Davis, and Jay King.
3. Determine if it is possible to borrow seats from another gallery and reinstall the missing lower level seats at the south end of #3722. Determined that this swap is possible but deferred this project to a future workday.
5. Charge #3722’s air-conditioning system with R12 refrigerant and test the system. Work is in progress. During the Sunday August 21st workday Seth Adams observed that the output voltage of the diesel gen set sags down dramatically and the 3-phase power system shuts down when attempting to start the air-conditioning compressor. A second test with the air conditioning turned off and the resistance heaters enabled shows the same result, the output voltage of the diesel gen set sags down dramatically and the 3-phase power system shuts down when attempting to power the heaters. This is a new problem, and these symptoms are consistent with a malfunctioning Automatic Digital Voltage Regulator (ADVR). The next step will be to replace the existing ADVR during the next workday to determine if the electronic voltage regulator for the #3722gallery car’s Delco gen-set has failed.
6. Continue working on the air conditioning system of the #3722 gallery-car per the written plan submitted by Seth Adams. Work is in progress.
7. Defer items 7 through 11 shown below until all items related to the upcoming September 4th and 5th excursion train operations have first been addressed. No action taken during the August 20, 2022 workday.
8. Continue working to select the gallery car with the least number of problems and concentrate on bringing #3720 or #3722 up to operational status as quickly as possible. No action taken during the August 20, 2022 workday.
9. Complete additional troubleshooting to determine why the engine stop pushbuttons for the #3722 and #3720 gallery car gen-sets are not working correctly. No action taken during the August 20, 2022 workday.
10. Inspect #3720 and #3722 and make a list of any parts that are missing, broken or inoperable. No action taken during the August 20, 2022 workday.
11. Continue vacuuming and washing seats and mopping the floors of the #3720 and the #3722 cars. No action taken during the August 20, 2022 workday.
Objectives for upcoming mid-week workdays at Schellville
1. Determine what needs to be done and the cost of bringing the gallery car CO2 fire suppression systems back to operational status. In progress, the gallery car CO2 fire suppression systems were surveyed and evaluated by Rich Cottle of Sciens Building Solutions and Jim Sweeney on August 8th. The gallery car CO2 fire suppression systems were determined to be obsolete and beyond economical repair or replacement. In addition, Mr. Cottle stated that he is unaware of any code requiring them and so recommends that they be scrapped at the GGRM’s convenience. If nothing new regarding these CO2 systems arises this item will be deleted from future objectives lists and progress reports.
Ongoing Offsite Projects that Support Schellville Workday Objectives
1. Repair or replace the wooden frames for the exterior windows of the #2979 Tavern Lounge Car. On Tuesday August 16, 2022 the eight wooden frames that Scott Bowdish completed were handed over to David Waterman.
