Progress report for Saturday November 13, 2021 GGRM workday.

 The November 13, 2021 Schellville workday was focused on the following items at the Victory Station Yard in Schellville.

 Thanks go out to the GGRM volunteers listed below that helped make November 13th Schellville workday successful;

 Steve Coon, Scott Vogel, Garrett Brisbee, Manly Hyde, Mike Pechner, David Waterman, Peter Schulze, and Nico Dacong.

 At the Victory Station Yard worksite:

1.           The GGRM EIC is required to send a text to NWPCo General Manager Ryan Martin when flag and derail protection has been set at the Victory Station Yard and the north leg of the Schellville wye.  Done, Jim Prettyleaf.

2.           Unload Jim P’s pickup truck and correctly store the equipment that was used during the previous workdays at the East Sunol Yards of the Niles Canyon Railway.  Done by Steve Coon Nico Dacong and Manly Hyde.

3.           Place updated FRA Form 3 and FRA Form 5 records in #2472’s cab.  Done by Jim Prettyleaf and David Waterman.

4.           Install the new glass that Marty Campbell purchased into #2472’s duplex air gages.  Done by Scott Vogel and David Waterman.

5.           Order new tarps for #2472, Jim P owns this action item.  In progress by Jim Prettyleaf.

6.           Order new gas engine water pump needed for moving and storing #2472’s boiler water.  Done, new water pump was received by Jim Prettyleaf on November 4, 2021.

7.           Measure the thread pitch and thread diameter of the GGRM’s large fire hoses.  Done by Jim Prettyleaf and Manly Hyde.

8.           Use info. provided by Elkhart Brass Mfg. Company Inc. to determine the type of hose couplings used by the GGRM.  In progress, Jim Prettyleaf will purchase and donate the new suction hose for hose adapter fittings needed for the GGRM’s new gas engine water pump.  

9.           Take picture of rerailing frogs that are hanging on #2472’s tender.  Done by Jim Prettyleaf.

10.       Search for the Aldon rerailing frog at Antioch.  Done by Steve Coon but the Aldon rerailing frog was not found at the Antioch storage yard.

11.       Steam clean GP9 #3194 to get ready for paint and body work.  Done by Steve Coon.

12.       Weed abatement at the Victory Station Yard.  Done by Peter Schulze.

13.       Oakland roof workday, 1 to 2 volunteers needed.  Great progress made by Garrett Brisbee, Nico Dacong, David Waterman, and Mike Pechner but more work will be necessary.

14.       The GGRM EIC is required to send a text to NWPCo General Manager Ryan Martin when flag and derail protection has been taken down at the Victory Station Yard and the north leg of the Schellville wye.  Done, Jim Prettyleaf.

 

A target list of objectives for working on the bi-level gallery cars stored at the Sonoma Rail Incorporated worksite was available on site during the November 13, 2021 Schellville workday, but no detailed information about items that may have been completed has been shared with the Schellville Site Manager at this time.  If work was completed on the former SP gallery cars during the November 13th workday just let me know and I will gladly supply a corrected update for this progress report.
